Taking the long
way home.
A walk can be worthwhile without a destination, a distance target or a story to tell afterwards.
Choose a quieter street. Notice which windows catch the afternoon light, where the shade falls, or how a familiar corner changes after rain.
Enough time to notice
Leave the headphones in a pocket for a few minutes. There is no need to make the whole walk an exercise in attention. A brief pause is enough to give the day a different rhythm.
Sometimes the long way home only adds five minutes. That can still be time well spent.
